We are a LGBTQIA+ and ally organization. Our board members have always been a part of the community and this was where our focus was at the start. We have since branched out to all disenfranchised communities and underserved peoples in the Baltimore area.
Our President: Donna Richison – R.I.P.
Donna is on the Board of Directors and President of Covering the Gap. She thrives on doing community outreach and has helped build a partnership with area churches to get fresh food for those in need. Donna has been working in the Mental Health field for the last 20 years. Previously, she worked at HSI Counseling in Baltimore, both caring for patients and managing transitional housing. She has collaborated with Medical, Therapeutic, and Substance Abuse professionals to ensure clients were receiving a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment. This approach provided for a successful transition into sobriety, employment, and independent living. Currently, she works for All Walks of Life LLC, working with clients who have co-occurring disorders. She received her Associate of Applied Science in Mental Health & Addictions at The Community Colleges of Baltimore County. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at The University of Baltimore.
Donna enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loves football; at game time on Sundays ( or whatever day the game is on), she can be heard near and far yelling at referees or just cheering on the team. She loves swimming, Martial Arts, going to the beach and playing with her dog.
Our Vice President: Jenna Mitchell
Jenna Mitchell has been volunteering her time and numerous talents since 1984, starting when she was a teen with candy striping at the local hospital and helping those less fortunate through the youth christian ministry. Throughout the years, she has worked as a chef, secretary, bookkeeper, accountant, and district manager within numerous fields, including health care, health insurance, military supply, construction, and news media. Currently, Jenna is the Co-Owner and Treasurer of a private social club in Baltimore, the Secretary and Bookkeeper for a local 501(c) educational charity, and the current Vice President of Covering the Gap, Inc.
When not working or helping other organizations, Jenna enjoys her Netflix and chill time, or playing creative video games like Minecraft. She is currently happily mothering three cats, who dictate everything around the house.
